Internet Discussion Groups
A variety of computer discussion groups (e.g., listservs) often have discussions of potential interest to NADE members. Below, you will find:
How to Subscribe to Most Listservs
To subscribe to one of the discussion groups, send mail to the Listserv address. Leave blank the name and subject headings, and in the body of the message type:
Subscribe <Listserv Name> <Your First Name> <Your Last Name>
For example, if John Doe was subscribing to the LRNASST Listserv, he would type in the body of the message:
Subscribe LRNASST John Doe
There are some Listservs that require permission to subscribe. If that is so, you will receive a message back informing you that your request will have to be approved. Don't be offended. The Listservs are trying to keep people off who have no connection with education but who are trying to sell commercial products, life insurance and the like.
Computer Discussion Groups that relate to Developmental Education. From time to time Listservs are discontinued. That may have happened with some of the Listservs listed below.
Education Computer Discussion Groups of General Interest
List of Listservs of potential interest to student affairs professionals, faculty and students. Many thanks to Stuart Brown from the University of Connecticut and Prescott Smith from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst who provided much of the above information through this Student Affairs Listserv guide.
